The Princess Pup and the Fire Dog: The Adventures of Cleo and Mowgli

Cleo is in for a big surprise when Anne adopts her—she meets Mowgli. Cleo is shocked and angry, and Mowgli isn’t happy either. Each dog is determined to be Anne’s one and only. They plot and play tricks, and Anne is caught in the middle and doesn’t know what to do. It seems like Cleo and Mowgli will never be friends!

Everything changes when Anne surprises them with a trip to her aunt’s farm. There, Cleo and Mowgli meet two spirited horses, Tanner and Filomena, who send them on an adventure and a mission: uncover the mystery of a haunted barn and scare off some troublemaking boys. But another adventure awaits them at the barn. Just when they think have a plan, a lightning bolt strikes, setting the old barn ablaze!

Now, with danger at every turn, Cleo and Mowgli must make a tough choice: keep bickering or team up to face their fears and save the day. Will they find the courage to become heroes—and maybe even friends?

When Cleo Met Mowgli

“Who are you? What are you doing in my house?”
Cleo demanded.

Mowgli wagged his tail even harder, looked at her, and gave a loud, happy bark. “Hi! I’m Mowgli. I live here,” he said. He had a deep voice, and it scared Cleo, even though he was trying to be friendly.

“A friend?” huffed Cleo, “is that what
she thinks I am?”

“Anne must be joking! How can I possibly be friends with you! You’re a giant, slobbering, smiling dog?” She pawed at Anne until Anne put her on the ground. Then Cleo walked up to Mowgli, glared at him, and started growling and barking.

“Shhh,” said one kitten. “We're hiding.”

She was black with a white belly and white paws, and she was very fluffy. “I’m Daisy. This is Ziggy.”

“Why are you hiding?” Mowgli asked again.

“I bet you’re hiding from the ghosts!” Cleo blurted out. “Have you seen any ghosts? We’re hunting ghosts right now. Tanner thinks this barn is haunted.”
